Around 492 interns in Bataan recently graduated from the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) Government Internship Program (GIP). The ceremony, held at the Bataan People’s Center in Balanga City, highlighted the interns’ opportunity to demonstrate their skills in public service.
DOLE Regional Director Geraldine Panlilio encouraged the graduates to enjoy the journey and see it as a step toward their dreams. Governor Jose Enrique Garcia III emphasized the program’s role in providing young workers with opportunities to serve in government projects. He also reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to partnering with DOLE to increase GIP beneficiaries in the province.
Notably, 39 graduates were absorbed and re-hired by the local government units they served, with 13 interns receiving awards for their outstanding performance. One graduate, Hazel Lyn Manalo, expressed gratitude for the program, stating that it helped young people like them reach their dreams. As part of the program’s efforts to prepare interns for the workforce, a learning session on Labor Relations and Labor Standards was conducted. The post 492 Bataan interns graduate from DOLE GIP appeared first on 1Bataan.
